1st anniversary

as i reflected on our one year of marriage,
i smiled.

it felt like it was just yesterday that i got married to you.
i remembered being anxious, nervous and excited to be married to you.
even though i've known you for 5-6 years,
i couldn't imagine how it was like living under the same roof with you.
now that i am married to you and i know how it is like living with you,
i've learnt to accept and i have no regrets.

our marriage has been fun and educational.
it teaches me to know myself better and work on my weaknesses.
at the same time, our marriage teaches me to know a lot more about you.
with the compromising and patience,
our marriage helps me to grow into a better person.

now that we got Mishel in our lives,
it is going to be more challenging,
but insya'Allah we will cope.
like what you say,
we will be okay as long as we have each other.

i like it that even though we are busy with stuff and didn't have anything to say,
either one of us will say 'i love you' and the other one will acknowledge.
and a while later,
we will say it again to one another.
a cycle of 'i love you-s'.

you know what i like being married to you?
it is the way that you make me feel special.

it is beautiful to have you in my life.
i believe that you are the one who i want to spend with in heaven.
