In April, I had a trip to Japan and Korea.
It was our own free and easy trip, we planned our booking of flights, the booking of hotels and the places that we wanted to visit.
It was our own free and easy trip, we planned our booking of flights, the booking of hotels and the places that we wanted to visit.
The trip was not smooth sailing. There were numerous hiccups. Nevertheless, I am still thankful that we are safe and home. :)
First: I've booked tickets from A. Airlines. Transaction was approved. Deduction were made from my debit card. However there was no confirmation slip.
End result: No tickets were booked but it has been paid. Need to rebooked. Had to wait for 10 days before I get my $xxxx back.

Second: The four of us (my husband, my sister, her friend and I) checked in our baggage together. However when we reached Korea, my sister luggage wasn't with our luggages. She already started to panic. Who wouldn't? With a luggage filled with 10 days of clothing and a laptop?
End result: Communicated with the Korean staff and discovered that S. Airlines realized that my sister's luggage had dropped off somewhere while being transferred to the plane. It was still in Singapore. The luggage was flown in the next day. The reason why it was complicated was because S. Airlines didn't know that we have a connecting flight to Japan via A. Airlines. If we didn't exit to get our luggage, we wouldn't have known that her luggage is left behind.

Third: We were supposed to head to transit hotel and we should not go through immigration. However we did. If we didn't go through immigration, we wouldn't know that my sister's luggage is left behind.
End result: We had to explain to the immigration officers which then chopped "VOID" on our passports.

Fourth: We were stuck for 5-6 hours in a train in Japan, Maihama station just outside Disneyland due to strong storm. The strong storm disabled the trains to move. We had two choices. One is to sit outside on the floor in the cold weather together with a lot of people. The second is to sit in the (warm) train. We chose the latter. Talk, listen to announcement, sleep, wake up, listen to announcement, talk, sleep, wake up, the train still haven't move. I have been to Tokyo Disneyland for 3 times and this is the first time that happened to me.
End result: The train finally move about 10 plus close to 11pm. While transferring to the other train, the train conductor was saying something like last train. Since we don't know which trains he was talking about, we dashed for our train. If you have been to Tokyo Disneyland, you should have know how long the train transfer distance was. About 800m perhaps? It was hectic.
